WILL AL SHARPTON SHOW UP TO ACCUSE COPS OF MURDERING YOUNG TEEN?

Gun that young teen burglar pointed at cops turned out to be one that shoots BBs

The Associated Press reported that a police spokesman said the teen was armed with a replica firearm that discharged BB gun pellets.

I’m not about to criticize a cop who shoots an individual who points a gun at him. To the cop, it looked like a real gun and under the circumstances he probably couldn’t tell how young the burglar was. I’m sure the cop feels awful about shooting a 13-year-old and this could lead him to have serious psychological problems. And I too would have shot the kid if he had been pointing what looked like a real gun at me.

Unfortunately, this police shooting is likely to stir up a humongous ruckus.

The 13-year-old shot by a Clayton County police officer during a home burglary died late Wednesday afternoon, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

Trevion Davis, of Jonesboro, was shot in the head by Clayton County police officers responding to a burglary on Bonanza Church Road, according to police.

Officers saw multiple suspects leaving the location and attempted to make contact with Trevion, who had a gun, according to police. An officer was forced to open fire, shooting the boy in the head, police said Wednesday.

The teen was transported to a hospital, where he later died.

An autopsy was conducted Thursday morning on the teen at the GBI Medical Examiner's Office, John Bankhead, GBI spokesman, told the AJC.

The GBI is assisting with the investigation into the shooting.

Davis' death upset Mildred Williams, the woman who lives in the home that allegedly was being burglarized.

"I would have rather he cleaned my house and take everything than for somebody's child to be laying back there dead," she told Channel 2 Action News.

Clayton County District Attorney Tracy Graham-Lawson told Channel 2 it's possible that 18-year-old Jamar Odom, who is accused of participating in the burglary, could face a murder charge since he was involved in a crime that led to Davis' death. Odom's bond was set at $25,000 Thursday.
