A number of other American cities have filed for bankruptcy, the California cities of San Bernardino and Stockton being the most notable ones ahead of Detroit. It would be foolish to believe that other cities won’t follow.

There have been bear sightings within the city limits of Detroit for the first time in living memory. Coyotes and packs of feral dogs are now an issue. Whole city blocks have been bulldozed. There is not one national chain grocery store in the whole city. There was talk about giving the whole city back to the native Americans earlier this year, but they didn't want it. (I just made up that last one, I think.)
