GOTTI JR. STABBED, TELLS HOSPITAL WORKERS HOW, TELLS COPS NOTHING

Junior tells hospital workers he was stabbed while trying to break up a fight between two strangers in a CVS Pharmacy parking lot

I have a sneaking suspicion that, because he clammed up to the cops, Junior was not stabbed by a stranger.

John Gotti Jr., son of the late Gambino family crime boss, told hospital workers he was stabbed in the stomach Sunday while trying to break up a fight, the New York Daily News reported.

Gotti told staff at Syosset Hospital he stepped into a fight between two strangers in a CVS drugstore parking lot near Syosset's Long Island Rail Road station.

Gotti told hospital personnel he drove himself to the hospital after the incident. Once the hospital notified police, he reportedly clammed up.

"He wasn't very cooperative," one investigator told the Daily News.

Another law enforcement source told the New York Post Gotti's silence leaves them nothing to go forward with at this point.

"He didn’t say anything to us so there was really no lead to track down at that point," the source said to the Post.

The Nassau District Attorney's Office will try to use surveillance footage from the CVS parking lot to piece together an investigation.

Charles Carnesi, Gotti's attorney, told the Post he has not been in contact with Gotti at this point.

"I expect him to return my call at some point," Carnesi said, adding he reached out to his client on Monday. "I don’t know what happened because I haven’t spoken to him."

Gotti pleaded guilty in 1999 to racketeering charges and served a little more than six years in prison after leading the Gambino crime family while his father, nicknamed the "Dapper Don," was in prison.

Gotti claimed he left the crime family once he entered prison in 1999, but after he was released, authorities tried him four times in five years for various crimes. Each ended with hung juries. He was last tried in 2009 for racketeering.

Gotti's father died in prison in 2002.

Gotti claims that he earns a living through a series of real estate ventures and other legal business interests.
