In one of those only-in-Kookfornia situations a San Diego judge is catching some serious heat over an unusual marriage.

Judge Patricia Cookson, 60, had just sentenced Danna Desbrow, 36, of Lemon Grove, to 53-to-life for murder. She then cleared her courtroom, had the murderer unshackled, and married Desbrow to his long-time girlfriend, then served them both cake. Reports suggest the judge may have baked the cake herself.

The September 30 incident, which has only recently been made public, has outraged the family of the murder victim and their lawyer.
