His Imperial Highness the Donald
According to various broadcast news today Donald Trump wants to accomplish these goals before the next election.
Move the country away from voting machines. He wants EVERYTHING on hard copy.
Get
rid of mail-in ballots almost 100%. Clearly there will need to be some
exceptions, such as persons living overseas or military stationed
overseas. I personally think that permanent absentee ballot status,
which is not uncommon in CA., is not unreasonable PROVIDED it has been
initiated in a secure manner. In my case it was with an in-person
registration and the ballot goes to my long-term address of record.
I
think both of these MAY BE good ideas, they are at least worth looking
at and talking about. Whether he has the power to do it, and whether it
SHOULD BE DONE are different issues. I trust Donald isn't holding his
breath on this.
