Back in June the Trump administration withdrew the
ability of CA to essentially write their own Clean Air regulations.
This isn't the done deal I thought it was.
CA.
is still attempting to enforce it's Advanced Clean Truck (ACT)
regulation. This will, if it happens, pretty much destroy the ability
of the trucking industry to sell new vehicles and eventually to even
operate in CA.
The Trump
administration is now suing the formerly great state of CA over their
now apparently illegal attempts. I wonder how Newsom thinks this is
going to help him become president? Most people are smart enough to
realize that there is a utility in being able to move goods freely
around the county. If large trucks are limited to driving only about
200 miles a day, which would be the effective outcome of this
regulation, it would massively increase the cost of moving goods and
greatly slow that movement. Both of those are bad things to anybody who
has the ability to do some critical thinking.
