A burglary suspect in the Arden-Arcade area of Sacramento
died after doing an unintentional (?) swan dive from a sixth floor
balcony in the early hours of Sunday.
The
building, at 1750 Howe, is a six story office building. The fire
department responded to a fire alarm at 2:30 a.m. and spotted a man on a
balcony. About one minute after the cop showed up the suspect fell
from the balcony. It didn't end well for him.
The
fire department has concluded that the dead guy broke into the building
and then pulled the fire alarm. The intruder did about $100,000 in
damage to the building before he did his street pizza imitation.
The
man had to force a door to get onto the balcony and was observed to
climb over the railing before he "fell." The fire department did not
specify the manner in which the damage was done in the building. The
suspect has not yet been identified to the media.
