Harris County deputy goes viral on TikTok, now faces investigation
The deputy said she'd write tickets after "not getting cracked."
The controversial video has since been taken down, but not before it was widely viewed and shared. The deputy's TikTok account remains active, and other posts reportedly show the deputy in uniform participating in other social media trends. It's unclear if those are also part of the ongoing review.
In a brief statement provided to FOX 26 regarding the video's circulation, the Precinct 5 Constable's Office confirmed that the matter is being reviewed: "Our administration is aware and internal affairs has opened an investigation. We have no other comment at this time."
Reactions from residents have been mixed. Some called the video "unprofessional" and said it undermines public confidence in law enforcement. Others said the post showed poor judgment but didn't necessarily reflect the deputy's overall fitness for duty.
As of Friday morning, the deputy has not been publicly named by the department, and no disciplinary action has been announced.
