Regular readers will remember FIRE AID from early this
year. A major fund raising operation to aid the victims of the L A
Fires in January. They raised $100 million. Something like 75-80% has
been "distributed" depending on how you define distribution.
The
charity that collected the money distributed it to middle-men. It
seems that virtually zero dollars have ever gotten from the middle-men
to the fire victims. The state A.G. is giving it a big ho-hum. The
feds, on the other hand, are looking into it.
Could get interesting.
