Since
the election is on Tuesday it is distinctly possible that the shut down
will end on Wednesday. The reason is simple. Both sides want the
issue, not the solution. (I honestly think this is mostly the Democrats
doing as part of their Trump Derangement Syndrome, though I admit there
is as reasonable argument from the other side.) After Tuesday the
political gain from the issue is decreased on both sides and the
potential downside is increased on both sides.
I could be wrong, but it is not a wildly improbably assertion.
EDITOR'S NOTE: I don't believe this election will have much, if any, effect on the shutdown.
I hate to say it, but I'm with the Democrats on this one. Congress needs to extend the Affordable Care benefits and needs to restore the funds for Medicaid that the Republicans cut.
