A very interesting item surfaced yesterday in the mainstream media, apparently fed by one or more whistle blowers.  It seems that Kings County has hired several dozen illegal aliens as correctional officers despite state law specifically prohibiting it.  

The Revised Washington Code 43.101.095 specifies that these hires MUST be either United States Citizens, lawful permanent resident aliens (green card) or covered by DACA.  The 38 known employees that are the focus of this issue are none of these things.

Rather than trying to legalize their hiring practices the county has essentially said FUCK YOU, WE'RE KEEPING THEM and is going to try to challenge the requirement.

It seems likely that these hires may be in violation of federal law as well and the DOJ may stick their nose in.
