Saturday night I watched Boxing After Dark on HBO. The main event featured a bout between Amir Khan and Paulie Malignaggi. Khan, a Muslim of Pakistani descent, is a British fighter.
The fight took place in New York’s Madison Square Garden. Khan had his supporters in the crowd. They waved a flag. Was it the British Union Jack? No it wasn’t. Khan’s supporters waved a big green flag with a white crescent moon and star, the 'Flag of Islam' ('Alam al-Islam).
Why is this noteworthy? Because it shows that the true believers among Muslims, no matter whether they are American citizens or the citizens of other countries, are giving their allegiance to Islam and not to the nation in which they live. Lest we forget, Islam is at war with the West. And that is why we will see an ever-growing number of homegrown terrorists in our immediate future.
