RECOMMENDED READING

Every year and in between we are informed of local, state and federal crime rates. For anyone interested in how those rates are arrived at and for all criminal justice students and professionals, I highly recommend a just-published book, “THE CRIME NUMBERS GAME: Management by Manipulation” by John A. Eterno and Eli B. Silverman.

Criminologists Eterno and Silverman have experienced a storm of criticism from Mayor Bloomberg and NYPD’s hierarchy who do not take kindly to being exposed as frauds for manipulating crime stats to make New York appear much safer than it really is.

The new book is published by CRC Press. The book’s website, www.thecrimenumbersgame.com, offers a 20% discount. Eterno and Silverman’s book is also available on Amazon and soon on Amazon’s kindle.
