INSTEAD OF SLAMMING NETANYAHU OVER HIS HANDLING OF THE ISRAELI-PALESTINIAN CONFLICT, CHICAGO’S MAYOR SHOULD LOOK TO THE WAR BEING WAGED IN THE CITY HE’S SUPPOSED TO BE GOVERNING

Rahm Emanuel, the president’s surrogate in the Obama administration’s efforts to see Netanyahu ousted from office, is better at attacking the Israeli prime minister than attacking his city’s gang war

Following Israel's decision to build new Jewish housing because the UN recognized Palestine as a state, Rahm Emanuel launched a serious of vicious attacks against Prime Minister Netanyahu. First Emanuel called Netanyahu's behavior "unfathomable," then he accused the Israeli leader of repeatedly "betraying" Obama. The Chicago mayor was obviously acting as a surrogate for President Obama.

Netanyahu is fighting for Israel’s survival against the Palestinians who have vowed to eradicate the Jewish state and replace it with one state, a Palestinian state, no matter how long it takes.

President Obama has been conned into believing Mahmoud Abbas when the forked-tongue Palestinian Authority president proclaims in English that he wants to have two states, Israel and Palestine, living side by side in peace, while telling his followers in Arabic that there will be only “one state from the (Jordan) river to the (Mediterranean) sea.”

Over the weekend, Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal addressed hundreds of thousands of Gazans and declared that "Palestine is our land and nation from the sea to the river, from the north to the south, and we will not cede even one inch of it." That is almost exactly what Abbas has been saying in Arabic over and over again.

Mashaal also told the adoring throng that “Palestine was, still is and will always be Arab and Islamic. Palestine belongs to us and to no one else. We will never recognize the legitimacy of the Israeli occupation and therefore there is no legitimacy for Israel, no matter how long it will take. Palestine belongs to us, and not to the Zionists.”

Obama sees Netanyahu’s policies as being the biggest obstacle to peace in the Middle East. It’s no secret that Obama has an intense personal dislike for the Israeli prime minister. But in order not to alienate his Jewish supporters, Obama refrains from attacking Netanyahu publicly. He doesn’t have to because he has his surrogate Rahm Emanuel to do it for him.

Netanyahu’s policies have succeeded in preventing terrorist attacks inside Israel. Israel withdrew from Gaza before Bibi became prime minister and was rewarded for its peaceful gesture by frequent rocket attacks against southern Israel. Netanyahu’s policies are designed to meet the security needs of Israel. The so-called ‘Roadmap to Peace’ drawn up by the U.S. the EU, the UN and Russia is really a map of stepping stones on a path to the eventual destruction of the Jewish state.

CBS News reports “There is a war going on -- not overseas, but right here on the streets of America. A gang war has taken over parts of Chicago.” 14 people were shot over the weekend in Rahm Emanuel’s city. “So far this year, there have been more than 2,364 shootings and 487 homicides” in the Windy City.

Instead of serving the interests of Obama by attacking Netanyahu, Rahm Emanuel had better devote his full attention to serving the interests of his Chicago constituents by attacking the gang wars going on unabated in his city.
