OBAMA’S STATE DEPARTMENT EXCORIATES ISRAEL OVER ITS PLANS TO CONSTRUCT NEW APARTMENTS

Israel’s building plans bring forth the strongest condemnation ever made by any administration since the birth of the Jewish state

“We are deeply concerned by reports today that the government of Israel has published tenders for 323 units in East Jerusalem settlements. This follows Monday’s announcement of plans for 770 units in the settlement of Gilo.”

“We strongly oppose settlement activity, which is corrosive to the cause of peace. These steps by Israeli authorities are the latest examples of what appears to be a steady acceleration of settlement activity that is systematically undermining the prospects for a two-state solution.”

“We are also concerned about recent increased demolitions of Palestinian structures in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, which reportedly have left dozens of Palestinians homeless, including children....”

“This is part of an ongoing process of land seizures, settlement expansion, legalizations of outposts, and denial of Palestinian development that risk entrenching a one-state reality of perpetual occupation and conflict. We remain troubled that Israel continues this pattern of provocative and counter-productive action, which raises serious questions about Israel’s ultimate commitment to a peaceful, negotiated settlement with the Palestinians.”

That is the statement made Wednesday by U.S. State Department spokesman John Kirby in response to Israel’s plans for building an additional 323 apartment units in settlements in East Jerusalem on top of 770 units previously announced in the settlement of Gilo. Kirby also condemned plans for other units, including 531 in Ma’ale Adumim, 19 in Har Homa, 120 in Ramot, and 30 in Pisgat Ze’ev.

Kirby’s excoriation was the strongest condemnation ever made of Israel by any administration since the birth of the Jewish state.

It’s no secret that President Obama hates Prime Minister Netanyahu. So it comes as no surprise that his State Department would excoriate the Jewish state for its plans to expand existing Jewish neighborhoods.

It is true that some of those neighborhoods exist on land claimed by the Palestinians. It is also true that the Palestinians really do not want a two-state solution to their conflict with the Israelis. Their oft stated goal is the obliteration of the Jewish state.

So, why is Obama’s State Department letting its bowels get all in an uproar over Israel’s apartment building plans? I can only surmise that it is because the President hates Netanyahu, and hence Israel.

And how have America’s Jews reacted to the undeserved excoriation of Israel? They’ve sat by in silence on their shameless liberal asses.
