The about-to-be former Pennsylvania Attorney General, Kathleen Kane, 50, was convicted yesterday of perjury and leaking grand jury information.
One of her former road dogs, testifying under a grant of immunity, stated that he had conspired with her to leak the grand jury material and then frame her chief deputy, a political rival, for the crime. Kane was a first-term Democrat who had never held elected office before. Her wealthy then-husband financed her run for office.
Her new office went completely off the rails due largely to her lack of background, incompetence and internal feuding, as well as external pissing contests with other state officials.
Kane was convicted of all charges against her, including a felony charge of perjury for lying to the grand jury about leaking grand jury material. She has already lost her law license though she continues in her office amid calls for her resignation.
The judge also made her turn in her passport for fear of her fleeing prior to sentencing. She left the state and went to Haiti for a while in 2014 while everything was turning to shit for her.
She did not testify in her own defense and called no defense witnesses. That didn’twork out for her.

What a moron!
It should be noted that she resigned from office on 08-16, under significant pressure. Maybe she figured hanging on would hurt her at sentencing.
