Tyson Gay is a world-class athlete, an Olympian. Until this morning he had a daughter, Trinity Gay, 15. She was also a runner of some repute.
About 4:40 a.m. on Sunday she was at the Cookout Restaurant near the campus of the University of Kentucky at Lexington when gunfire started going back and fourth between two vehicles at the restaurant. She was collateral damage, caught in the crossfire.
It is a damn shame that someone this promising and this young died so tragically and senselessly. I wonder if the Black Lives Matter crowd will have anything to say about it. Probably not, as it seems likely that the shooters and intended victims were Black. Thus there are few political points to be scored. Nobody except the immediate family and circle of friends will give a shit.
Black lives are meaningless as long as Blacks keep voting reliably as a group for Democrats.
