THE RECAPTURE OF MOSUL

American air power and artillery make the difference between victory and defeat

Iraq’s army is poised to recapture Mosul, the center of the ISIS Caliphate in Iraq. The TV networks are full of segments about the Iraqi army inching its way toward Mosul. Barely mentioned is the fact that they are backed up by 5,000 American troops, operating artillery batteries or advising the Iraqis and by devastating American air strikes.

Make no mistake about it, without that American backing, the Iraqi army would never be able to recapture Mosul. American air power and artillery make the difference between victory and defeat.

The only credible military in Iraq is the pesh merga Kurdish fighting force. The Kurds are attacking Mosul from the north. The Kurds want to form their own nation, independent from Irraq.

Without America’s air power and artillery, the Iraqi army would be a big joke!
