Ricard Garcia Lopez, 39, was by any reasonable definition an asshole. He was busted in both March and May for domestic violence and was on the dodge from the cops after a July 25 complaint for the same. This weekend in Clearlake he murdered three of his four children and shot the fourth. He then shot himself to death. The dead children were 9 months, 2 years and 4 years old. The survivor was 5.
The children were found in a SUV at the scene of the shooting.
Lopez was on non-supervised probation due to a Nolo plea on the March domestic violence beef. There was also a restraining order out against him and it was illegal for him to possess weapons. He was also a sex offender who had failed to register. He was arrested in late May after missing a court appearance but was later released.
I guess his rights were more important than his children's lives.
