A 12-year-old Oregon boy is being held in juvenile detention on suspicion of killing a 92-year-old woman.

The Register Guard reported that Emma Burnell was found dead in her Creswell, Oregon home on Monday afternoon after someone called authorities to report an injured person at her address.

Authorities described Burnell's death as being 'unexplained' and 'suspicious,' but did not elaborate on the nature of the woman's injuries, according to KMTR.

Burnell, who is reported to have been blind, was said to have been found in her home by a neighbor who went to check on her.

Burnell's neighbor, Samuel Olsen, told KEZI that when his wife went to Burnell's home, she found broken glass and saw Burnell dead in bed from what appeared to be stab wounds.

The boy, whose name is not being released because of his age, was taken into custody on Thursday morning and was booked at the Serbu Juvenile Justice Center in Eugene, Oregon, on charges of first-degree murder and first-degree burglary.

A Lane County Public Health spokesman said that the boy would not be charged as an adult.

Authorities have not yet revealed whether Burnell knew the boy or what led to his arrest.

The boy will make his first appearance in juvenile court on Friday morning.

EDITOR’S NOTE: Of course this boy is not a coldblooded murderer. He is just a poor child whose brain has not fully developed so that he cannot understand that breaking into a house and stabbing its 92-yeat-old occupant to death is a bad thing to do.

I'll bet the elderly lady stabbed herself to death and that poor young child just happened into her house in search of his pet kitten.
