SACRAMENTO PD OFFICER KILLED RESPONDING TO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE CALL

by Bob Walsh

Officer Tara O'Sullivan, 26, of the Sacramento Police Department, was shot and killed last night at a domestic violence call. The shooter, armed with a rifle, managed to hold officers at bay for eight hours before surrendering about 0200 on Thursday.

The officer was shot while helping the female victim remove property from her home. The shooter was armed with a rifle. He kept responding officers from aiding Officer O'Sullivan until an armored vehicle responded to allow officers to pick her up and get her to the hospital.

Officer O'Sullivan had been on the job about 17 months.

RIP sister.

Yes, the officer laid there for very nearly an hour until they could respond with an armored vehicle. I wasn't there so I don't know why, but I confess I have a problem with that.

Turns out it was less than a year on the street. She was still with an FTO.
