“So the President fucking hates my girlfriend.”

That’s quite the headline.

In a post featured in the Players’ Tribune, Sue Bird wrote an article responding to the noise caused by President Donald Trump’s feud with her girlfriend Megan Rapinoe. The New York City high school legend and current WNBA All-Star quickly came to the defense of her partner, and shared her immediate emotions following the feud.

“I’d say I actually had a pretty standard reaction to it: which was to freak out a little. That’s one thing that you kind of have to know about me and Megan: our politics are similar — after we won the WNBA title in Seattle last season, no way were we going to the (fucking) White House! — but our dispositions are not. And as we’ve been talking through a lot of this “stuff,” as it’s been happening to her, you know, I’ll be honest here….. some of it scares the shit out of me!!”

Rapinoe, who has scored the last four goals for the U.S. to lead the team to the World Cup semifinals, has been dominating headlines this tournament both on and off the field.

The feud between the outspoken Rapinoe and President Trump started when a video clip of Rapinoe saying, “I’m not going to the fucking White House," if the team was invited was released last week. The comment was originally made back in January.

Trump responded on Twitter saying that, “We haven’t yet invited Megan or the team, but I am now inviting the TEAM, win or lose. Megan should never disrespect our Country, the White House, or our Flag, especially since so much has been done for her and the team.”

Rapinoe, who was the first athlete wearing a national team jersey to join Colin Kaepernick’s peaceful protest movement by kneeling during the national anthem in 2016, stood by her comments in the days leading up to the U.S.'s quarterfinal clash against host France in Paris, but said she regretted using the F word.

Bird wrote about her fulfilling life with the USWNT star and how proud she was of Rapinoe. However, that didn’t come without throwing digs at the President and his supporters.

“It would be ridiculous to the point of laughter, if it wasn’t so gross. (And if his legislations and policies weren’t ruining the lives of so many innocent people.) And then what’s legitimately scary, I guess, is like….. how it’s not just his tweets.

“Because now suddenly you’ve got all these MAGA peeps getting hostile in your mentions. And you’ve got all these crazy blogs writing terrible things about this person you care so much about. And now they’re doing takedowns of Megan on Fox News, and who knows whatever else.”

This is currently where we stand, the star of the United States’ national team and the leader of the country she’s representing going at it.

What a world.

EDITOR’S NOTE: I wish people like Megan Rapinoe, Sue Bird and Colin Kaepernick who are so unhappy with the way LGBTQs and blacks are treated in this country would just pack up and move to a country where these minorities are welcome and respected by all the people. What? ,,, You say there’s no such place.

Sure there are. I hear that both Iran and Saudi Arabia a very accepting of disloyalty to the government and LGBTQ issues.
