The California Rifle and Pistol Association on Monday filed for an injunction in San Diego Federal Court against the moronic newly enacted and enforced ammunition purchase law in the formerly great state of California.
The new law requires a background check, and a $1 per transaction fee, for all ammunition purchases. Prospective purchasers MUST have CA identification. No one from out of state can purchase ammo in California, and it is illegal for a California resident to purchase ammo out of state and bring it back in themselves. It is also illegal for a California resident to purchase ammo thru out of state suppliers via the internet, mail order, etc. All purchases must be made in face-to-face transactions by specially licensed retailers.
The new stupidity is especially hurting stores in border cities. Prospective purchasers can simply cross the border, buy their ammo and bring it back (in violation of law) without the administrative bullshit and added expense.

What is to stop someone from buying ammo from Arizona then throw away the packaging and store it in bulk ammo containers? How would the state prove when and where the ammo was purchased? Sounds like California is making other wise law abiding citizens criminals and violating the 2nd Amendment.
True. Of course the political ruling class in CA does not care about any of that. They want to FEEL GOOD about themselves and inconvenience law abiding gun owners as much as possible.
