It seems that, if there is indeed fire to explain the presence of smoke, Representative Omar might be in trouble.
Whenever she is asked about this issues, her response is, "You are a racist fuck for asking me that." Not exactly a denial, and not exactly helpful.
It seems likely that she came to the U. S. fraudulently by claiming to be a member of another Somali family that had been granted asylum. She then apparently entered into a sham marriage with her own biological brother in order to bring him into the U.S. Some of her tax returns seem to have issues about who is actually married to who and when. Another "husband" has moved back to the U.K. where he went as an asylum refugee originally from the shithole of Somalia.
Representative Omar has consistently refused to supply the names of her actual family members when directly asked to do so.
The local newspapers from her district are totally ignoring this issue. It does, however, seem likely that Immigration and the IRS will not do so, at least not indefinitely.
Maybe it is just wishful thinking but it would be so much fun to see her prosecuted for immigration fraud, tax fraud, thrown in the slammer and then deported back to her home town of Shithole, Somalia. I'll bet Nancy and Donald would be happy to spring for a third class ticket home for her.
