Four Correctional Officers at the Kern Valley State Prison near Delano, CA were stabbed yesterday by a prisoner who really didn't want to be searched.
Elrader Browning, 39, pulled a home-made knife and started stabbing. Two officers suffered sprained wrists while fighting with Browning, one was stabbed in the face and neck and one suffered a broken wrist. All were treated and released from a local hospital.
Browning will probably be charged with four counts of attempted murder of a peace officer. They will probably manage to actually make one count stick, along with three counts of assault on an officer resulting in injury (which I think is a misdemeanor now in CA).
Browning is now enjoying a comfortable one-person cell in administrative segregation, until some asswipe judge decides that is cruel and unusual punishment and sends him back out to the mainline.

Call the building tender. He takes care of unruly prisoners. At least he did when I worked there.
