ATLANTA COPS GET A LITTLE HELP FROM A PRIVATE FOUNDATION

Every Atlanta police officer will get a $500 bonus

ATLANTA, Ga. — Every Atlanta police officer will receive a $500 bonus today, according to local media reports. 

 

The bonuses add up to $2 million raised by the Atlanta Police Foundation, WSB-TV in Atlanta reported. No city funds will be used.

The foundation said they would also be purchasing 20 police cars to replace those that were destroyed in protests a few weeks ago.

The foundation told Channel 2 the bonuses are a thank you for the long hours and hard work of law enforcement officers over the past 3 months.

 

This comes after the Atlanta police department reported that several officers refused to show up for work Wednesday night, following murder charges against a former Atlanta police officer in the deadly shooting of a man at a Wendy's drive-thru last weekend.
