On Monday, the conservative Supreme Court ruled twice against President Trump.
The court left California's sanctuary laws in place and allowed the state to refuse cooperating with ICE.
The court also ruled 6-3 that the 1964 Civil Rights Act protects gays and lesbians from getting fired. The majority opinion was written by Trump appointee Justice Neil Gorsuch.
The Trump administration fought hard against California's sanctuary laws and to let employers fire people for their sexual orientation.
__________
SCORE ONE FOR THE LGBTQ CROWD
by Bob Walsh
Acting
yesterday SCOTUS ruled that the 1964 Civil Rights Act DOES in fact
protect LGBTQ people from workplace discrimination. The vote was 6-3.
As far as I know this is the first time the court has included the
concepts of sexual orientation and gender identity into the general
definition of the work "sex" in the meaning of the 1964 Civil Rights
Act.

Gays were already a protected class. This decision makes it official. My question is will male transgender athletes be allowed to compete in female sports as females? A lower court has already recently ruled against it. What now?
That is the trouble with identity politics. It is sometimes hard to figure out who has what coming. That is why equal opportunity has much to be said for it.
