STOCKTON ARRESTS LOOTERS

by Bob Walsh

The local constabulary here arrested two men after a high-speed chase from a looted jewelry store.

A bit after midnight on Tuesday morning the cops responded to the Eastland Plaza shopping center on North Wilson Way.  They saw a group of people looting the store.  They pursued one of the get-away vehicles for about eight miles until the bad guys unsuccessfully negotiated an offramp at Eight Mile Road when a post jumped out in front of their car, bringing them to a stop.

Wayne Brooks, 23, and Daniel Ruffin, 24, are now guests of the people facing charges of burglary, looting and conspiracy.  They should be arraigned at about the time you read this as the criminal courts are more-or-less back up and operating in San Joaquin County.

The store suffered about $30,000 in losses and damage in the attack.

If your going to be a criminal, you should learn to successfully drive a getaway car.
