An “extremely combative” California woman was nabbed earlier this week for allegedly attempting to drown a 4-year-old boy in an irrigation canal, according to reports.
The boy was saved by a California Highway Patrol officer, who was forced to wrestle the child from Taylor Delaine Green’s unrelenting grasp as she made an attempt to grab his gun, authorities said.
The incident started at 6:30 p.m. Monday, when a CHP officer responded to a white Dodge Caravan blocking a road in Yuba County near Marysville. When the unnamed officer arrived and saw the empty vehicle, he heard screaming from about 100 yards away, the Sacramento Bee reported.
Green was “acting irrationally” and in an “extremely combative” manner — while appearing to be under the influence of drugs, according to a CHP news release cited by the outlet.
As the officer approached Green, he observed her holding the boy face down, “smothering him in the muddy embankment,” according to the release.

As the cop tried to save the boy, Green submerged both herself and the boy in roughly 5 feet of canal water, the Sacramento Bee reported. The officer jumped into the canal and saved the boy, wrestling the child from Green’s clutches.
Green, 31, was arrested for attempted murder, child endangerment, resisting arrest, trying to take an officer’s gun and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, according to the California Highway Patrol.
It’s unclear if Green, a resident of Dobbins in Yuba County, is related to the boy.
She was held on $500,000, according to jail records cited by the Sacramento Bee.

How come she has to cough up bail. That doesn't seem fair. All she tried to do is murder a young child for no apparent reason. That doesn't mean she is a bad person or dangerous. Wait, I guess that DOES mean she is a bad person and is dangerous.
