Over the last couple of days 20 brand new homes were
burned to the ground at Laguna Niguel on the CA coast. A combination of
a moderate wind and a lot of more-or-less try brush around pushed the
fire fast and the local people working with CalFire just could not get
ahead of it.
When this is
combined with the drought situation I expect there is going to be a lot
more of this. Perhaps now is the time to be looking VERY HARD at
fireproof construction.
