Kayden Reid suffered minor injuries while saving his sister
Sharing the ordeal via a Facebook post, Kayden's mother, Kayla Giles wrote, "I tell my children all the time your siblings are forever & I tell them to watch out for each other because whether I leave here today or tomorrow they will always have each other. The bravery that overcame my son yesterday when he jumped in to save his baby sister was everything to me I can’t stop telling him how proud I am of him and what such a good job that he has done." She also revealed that "Kayden is fine everyone and all of his test came back good. He has a few scrapes and scars but with time they will all heal I’m just glad my babies are okay!"
Speaking to Fox News, Kayden said, "I had to go get her before she got ran over by a car, but that's when the car hit me." The little boy's mother Giles added, "By the time everybody else saw [Kaycee] in the street, Kayden was right there … He ran right into the street to save her. But in the process of getting her out of the way, he got hit by the car." A video shared by the outlet showed Kayden being greeted by the Mobile Fire/Rescue who came by in a firetruck. The little boy, dressed in Superman's costume, was thrilled, especially when he toured the firetruck and sat in the driver's seat, posing for pictures.
"We are so proud of Kayden's heroic actions that he did for his baby sister," said Kayden's aunt, Kendra Giles Nettles, reports Yahoo! "You know, these days it's really hard for a six-year-old to stop what they're doing and save their sibling. That lets us know that we are doing right by our kids. We are so thankful to have both of them here. It brought our family a lot closer ... so we're just thankful both kids are still here safe and sound. God is good," she added.
