Samhain
Today is Samhain, a very
important day for us pagans. It is the third harvest of the natural
calendar year. It is also the time when the veil between this world and
the next is at it's thinnest. This is the night when something goes
bump in the night it might actually be something. It is also the
evening when it is perfectly acceptable for 14-year old girls to walk
around dressed as street hookers so there is much to be said for it.
Remember,
jack-o-lanterns and supposed to be SCARY. The idea is to scare the
evil spirits. A smiling jack-o-lantern won't scare a spirit. It is
also the time when the ghosts of those who have passed in the last year
may be able to drop by and say good-bye, so don't be surprised if it
happens. Screaming and passing out is so tacky.
I trust you will all have a pleasant and a safe evening.
