There has been another chapter in the sad saga of the the
Stockton Unified School District. It concerns Armando Orozco, the
Director of Facilities and Transportation. An ALJ has ruled that the
district can not wave bye-bye to him, at least not yet, as they
neglected to give him his notice of termination on or before May 15th.
The district must rescind his layoff and reemploy him for the upcoming
school year.
Orozco had
previously agreed to "leave your corrupt district in silence" upon
payment of $800,000. His annual salary is a tad over $145,000.
The
district operations are currently under investigation by the FBI and
the District Attorney. The district may be taken over by the state due
to long-term fiscal mismanagement.
