Shellyne Rodriguez, 46, has been fired from her job as an adjunct
professor at the School of Visual Arts and Hunter College after she
aggressively confronted pro-life students and then attacked a reporter
who asked her about it.
Rodriguez pulled a machete on the reporter on her doorstep and held it to his throat in an incident caught on camera. She followed the reporter and photographer out her building still brandishing the machete.
Rodriguez held the blade right near the reporter’s neck, video shows.
Rodriguez chased the photographer into the street while holding a machete. She also kicked the reporter in the shins.
'Hunter College strongly condemns the
unacceptable actions of Shellyne Rodriguez and has taken immediate
action,' said Vince Dimiceli, a spokesman for the school. 'Rodriguez has
been relieved of her duties at Hunter College effective immediately,
and will not be returning to teach at the school.'
