OUT OF THE FRYING PAN AND INTO THE MORGUE

A man in custody at O'Connor Hospital fell to his death after smashing a window and jumping onto a ledge

An as-yet not publicly named man died in custody at a hospital in the greater San Jose, CA. area in the last couple of days.

The man was in custody for being a dick and violating a court order (presumably a protection order of some sort).  He was in the hospital due to a previously existing medical condition and got in a beef with the officer guarding him and one of his nurses.  He assaulted the officer and threatened to thump them with his oxygen tank.  They left his room to call for assistance.

At that time the dick broke the window of his room with his oxygen tank and climbed out on the ledge, possibly in an attempt to escape.  If so he wasn't very good at it and ended up doing a 20-foot street pizza drop.  He was pronounced dead at a different hospital that he was shipped to after his escape attempt.  

The matter is under investigation.
