“Jesus Authorizes You to Kill the Jews,” and Other Online Antisemitism
Online antisemitism monitoring group laments that Facebook and Twitter still see violent hate speech toward Israel as legitimate criticism.

It’s no surprise that the latest round of Gaza fighting that came to an end last night generated a fresh wave of online antisemitism.
Any time Israel defends itself, those who hate Jews crawl out from their holes in great numbers and spew their venom on any platform that will allow it.
Sadly, Facebook and Twitter remain among those platforms that allow it.
Both social media giants ban “hate speech,” which they define as threatening language targeting a race, religion, gender or other people group. It is not considered hate speech to speak ill of a nationality. And for this reason, Israel falls between the cracks.
But the fact of the matter is that when people write things like “Death to Israel” on social media, what they really mean is “death to Israel’s Jews.”
“Regarding anti-Israeli content – unfortunately such content is not considered hate speech by the social networks. They define such content as legitimate criticism of a state. I understand that such content can be interpreted as hateful in our eyes, but according to the networks it is not, so it’s a shame to waste time on it,” read a message posted by the group Fighting Online Antisemitism to its volunteers on an antisemitism monitoring group last week, as reported by Israel Hayom.
During the discussion on the monitoring group, one of the volunteers reported finding a social media post in English encouraging the terrorists with the words: “Jesus authorizes you to kill the Jews.”
