Several rapid gunshots are heard, while someone screams to 'get into the car' as dozens of people flee the scene as the SWAT-clad assailant opened fire at the mall in Allen, Texas.
Shooter Mauricio Garcia, 33, was reportedly a security guard who was removed from the Army in 2008 over 'mental health' concerns, according to ABC 30 Dallas. The US Army has not provided any further information.
He was living in a Budget Inn in Texas, when he killed eight people and injured five others outside the H&M store at Allen Premium Outlets on Saturday afternoon.
It comes after Gov. Greg Abbot said don't 'jump to conclusions' about the shooter being a white supremacist despite several sources claiming he was an extremist. He said that authorities are 'still waiting to figure out why and how this happened.'
According to the Washington Post, a patch the gunman was wearing on his chest read 'RWDS' which is an acronym for 'Right Wing Death Squads.'
A police officer who was at the scene responding to another call shot Garcia dead when he heard the shots. While his motive remains unconfirmed, law enforcement sources say now-deleted social media pages show he had neo-Nazi interests.
