The Catholic Diocese of Sacramento filed for Chapter 11
Bankruptcy protection today in federal court. The move was expected and
had been previously announced.
Right now the diocese is facing in excess of 250 civil suits, some reaching back 70 years.
The
bankruptcy moves makes litigants into creditors for legal purposes.
This will allow the court to decide how available assets will be
distributed.
An organization known as SNAP, the Survivors of those abused by priests, has protested the bankruptcy move.
A change in the law in 2019 allows abuse survivors to file a claim regardless of when the abuse occurred.

I hope they lose each and every lawsuit. Put these no good Priests in jail. (USA)
