U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland attends
a news conference at the Department of Justice Building on May 23,
2024, in Washington, D.C. In a lawsuit filed Thursday, the Department of
Justice seeks to break up Live Nation, alleging that the parent company
of Ticketmaster has hurt consumers and violated antitrust laws by
exercising outsize control over the live events industry.
Today the Feds and over a dozen state AGs filed suit
against Ticket Master and their corporate parent which owns or operates a
bunch of venues.
You
might remember that back in 2019 Ticket Master entered into an agreement
with the G over a lawsuit instituted against them at that time. It
seems that they have STILL not been playing straight.
Speaking
as one who has had a couple of very unpleasant dealings with Ticket
Master I must say that it is possible that the Biden Admin has a good
idea here. A blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while.

I like this lawsuit. The wife and I would attend more events except for the the fees the ticket sellers charge. They are outrageous. (USA)
