Culbertson was left with 300 bites, 500 stitches and 100 lacerations. He later became septic in the hospital and succumbed to his injuries
Christ Culbertson was a dog person and had previously
owned a pit bull. Saturday night he was bicycling along in the
neighborhood about 10 p.m. when he was attacked by a pack of dogs. The
attack was caught on a residential surveillance camera in an attack that
lasted 23 minutes. He suffered about 300 bites and died two days later
from sepsis.
One female
neighbor jumped in with a golf club to help, but she was also attacked.
She retreated and called 911. The dogs fled when the cops showed up.
At
least some of the dogs were seized. They are believed to be trained
fighting dogs. It is not clear if the owner has been identified yet.
