Greasy Gavin Newsom, the God-Emperor of the formerly great state of California, issued an executive order today suspending the rules of the very powerful California Coastal Commission.
The 15-member appointed commission has a huge amount of power. They have acted to prevent people from rebuilding previously existing homes along the coast just because they were offended by the fact that people wanted to live on the coast. They have tried to fuck with Elon Musk over launches of his rockets from Vandenburg, for the stated reasons of political objections to Elon Musk.
Gavin clearly wants very much to not be recalled and is desperate to be seen to still be relevant for a run for President. Having the Coastal Commission tell people in Malibu or along the Pacific Coast Highway that they can't rebuild "just because" would not endear him to some very loud and very rich people.

President Trump had mentioned his disdain for the Coastal Commission during his meeting in Ca. The same meeting Governor Newsome wasn’t invited to.
