Steven Merkel
Steven Merkel, 52, of Lake Geneva, WI, is a dumb shit and
is in a lot of trouble. Still he is in less trouble than his
eight-year old step-son, Michael Meagher, who is dead.
Allegedly
Merkel decided to show his 9mm pistol to his step-son this past Monday
to help make him look cool. He (again allegedly) pulled the magazine,
believing that would make the pistol inoperative. He either didn't
check the firing chamber or didn't care. He certainly was not familiar
with the operating characteristics of the weapon.
Merkel
walked from the bedroom, pointed the gun at the rugrat and pulled the
trigger, thinking it would go CLICK. It went BANG instead. Merkel also
admitted to having consumed one or more alcoholic drinks prior to the
incident.
Merkel is
currently a guest of the county pending $250,000 bond. His next court
appearance will be this coming Monday. He has been charged with
reckless homicide.
Dumb fucks shouldn't own guns.
