Alongside his wife Jennifer Rauchet and his seven kids, Hegseth swore an oath of office beside Vice President JD Vance .
Pete Hegseth was confirmed by the narrowest of margins to be the next SecDef. The vote tied at 50-50 with the V.P. breaking the tie. Three Republicans peed. This is a major score for the Orange Man and will, with luck, be a major score for the U. S. military and the country. Hegseth has a significant amount of been there-done that time. He was never a general officer and some think he is over his head. The man can think and can express himself clearly. You don't need, and maybe shouldn't have, a former general-politician running the military. He believes the Defense Department has too much tail and too little teeth. IMHO he is right. Whether or not he is the man to fix the problems remains to be seen, but if he fails it won't be for lack of trying.
