ARSONIST WITH FAKE FIRE TRUCK ARRESTED IN L A FIRE AREA

By Bob Walsh

Many homes along Rambla Vista in Malibu, Calif., have been destroyed by a wildfire that broke out in Los Angeles County on Jan. 7. The Palisades Fire has destroyed more than 5,316 homes, businesses and other structures, according to Cal Fire on Thursday.

I have to admit, this is a new one on me.  The L A S O arrested a previously convicted arsonist and his wife in fake fire truck with fire gear, including radios, in the fire evacuation area of L.A.

Dustin Nell, 31, and his 44-year old wife, Jennifer Nell, are facing charges of unlawfully entering an evacuation area and impersonating a fire fighter.  They were equipped with a surplused out fire engine from Oregon, signed for the non-existent "Roaring River Fire Department."  Something about them looked off to a Sheriff' Deputy.  The S.O. seized the truck and the fire fighter regalia and equipment.

Nell did five years on a 2017 beef for arson in Oregon.  He may still be under probation supervision in Oregon.  Or not.

The cops have arrested looters wearing fire fighting gear in the fire evacuation zone.

None of the large L A fires has grown significantly in the last three days due to a change in the wind, though none are yet fully contained either.
