John Alfonzo Smiley used to be a California Correctional Officer. It is a pretty good job with good pay and bennies. Cynthia Ann Biasi is his wife. In April of 2008 they were indulging in their hobby of spouse-swapping at a sex club in San Francisco. Smiley got in a beef with the guy who had just been porking his wife, and got shot in the back for his trouble. He is now in a wheel chair.
They claimed that they had been in a restaurant rather than the sex club and that he was backshot by a parolee who recognized him. They put in for about $4 million in workers comp benefits claiming the incident was work related.
In 2012 they were both found guilty of perjury. They have now both been found guilty of fraud charges. Smiley is now looking at nearly nine years as a guest of the state. His wife is looking at roughly the same when they are sentenced next month.
The shooter was never caught or even properly identified. He might have even been a parolee.
They could have both avoided the whole thing if they had backed away from their claim early on. Instead they pursued the lie and got bit on the ass. Being an ex-cop in prison is, I expect, rough. Being a gimp ex-cop in prison is probably REALLY rough. What’s the old saying; Life is hard, it’s harder when you are stupid.

These idiots need to go to jail. Any man that would allow someone to screw his wife and participate in swinger's groups is a low life.
If they have any children, I'll bet they are really embarrassed.
