COMMIES IN CALIFORNIA

By Bob Walsh

For those readers who do not follow politics in the formerly great state of California, it is strange here. California is largely controlled by the Communist party. They don’t call it that of course, they call it the Democrat party, but it is the same thing.

Gavin Newsom is the current Lieutenant Governor. He was formerly the Mayor of the Peoples Republic of San Francisco. He is more-or-less in line to be the next Governor after Moonbeam (Jerry Brown) is forced to hang it up in a year. The Democrat party is right on the edge of supermajorities in both houses of the legislature. Some years they have it, some years they don't, depending on how many of the legislators are in prison at any one time.

Democrats (Communists) for the most part just LOVE gun control. Of course it doesn’t have much to do with guns. It has a LOT to do with control. They call it “common sense gun safety” but what they are in fact trying to do is to make it as difficult as possible for honest, law abiding citizens to own guns. They don’t care so much about criminals owning guns. If they did they would prosecute and imprison them.

Gavin Newsom is pushing for a ballot initiative for this coming November. If successful it would accomplish the following.

Semi-automatic rifles with removable magazines would become illegal and would be seized by the government without compensation. This would include Mini-14s, M-1 Carbines, M-14s, anything that fits that description even if you had owned it legally for YEARS. “High-capacity” (actually standard capacity) magazines that hold more than ten rounds would become illegal and subject to seizure. You could be prosecuted if you don’t turn them in. No compensation. Even if you purchased them legally and have had them for years. You would need a license to buy ammo. This license would cost a significant amount of money and would have to be renewed regularly. Legitimate ammunition dealers would largely be driven out of business by red tape and reporting requirements. It would be illegal to buy ammunition out of state, either in person or via mail order.

It is at this time unclear if this thing will make it to the ballot. It is very unclear if the courts would buy into if even if it is passed by the voters. That isn’t the point. The point is that high level government officials think that it is a GOOD IDEA that the people of California be unable to defend themselves from criminal attack as much as possible and that, if they are able to jump through the hoops to do so it will cost them as much money as possible and be as inconvenient as possible.

And we collectively keep voting these bastards into office. What’s with that?
