The state prison facility at Norco in SoCal will be shut
down next year assuming Gavin Newsom gets his wish, and he probably
will.
The prison started
out life as a resort hotel in the early 20th century and was a military
hospital during WWII. The Dept. of Corrections basic training operation
was there when I started with them in 1981. The main building is
somewhat old and decrepit. Since Gavin Newsom's social policies are now
so wonderful and crime is down so precipitously in CA (gag gag cough
cough puke) we don't really NEED prisons any more, so it's all good.
