CREATIVE TASERING

William Atwood Sr., 45, has a pretty definite idea of what is right and wrong. It may cost him 16 years in prison (though it probably won’t).
Atwood has a teenage daughter. He was more than a little pissed when Justin Moore, 23, sent his daughter a cellphone photo of his genitalia. So he managed to get Moore to come to their house in [Riverside County’s] French Valley and confronted him with a shotgun. He ordered him to strip down to his boxers (with the assistance of one round discharged [in the air] from the shotgun) tied him and lit him up with a Taser. The police and the DA were not amused, nor was Moore himself.
Moore, who was acquainted with Atwood’s daughter and son, says sending the cellphone picture on January 10 was intended as a joke. Atwood reported the incident to the police, but the D A declined to file in the case. Atwood described the girl as a "child" to the police though the LA Times news article linked here does not state her age specifically. The D A said they could not prove "sexual intent" in sending the photo. (I guess people send photograph of their genitals to other people all the time with no sexual intent.)
Atwood is facing several charges, including assault.
