WE COULD USE SOME BRAWLS IN OUR CONGRESS

Fisticuffs and chair-throwing are quite common in the legislative bodies of Japan and Korea. Now a good ‘knock down and drag out’ brawl has broken out in the Ukrainian parliament. Shit, we could sure use some of those in our Congress. Maybe a few brawls would knock some sense into the heads of the big spenders among our Senators and Congressmen.

A violent scuffle between pro-government and opposition lawmakers in the Ukrainian parliament has left legislators bloodied and bruised.

Lawmakers from President Viktor Yanukovych's Party of Regions late Thursday stormed the parliament podium after it had been blocked by legislators from Yulia Tymoshenko's party protesting a corruption probe against her.

Tymoshenko's party said 6 lawmakers sustained serious injuries, including concussions, a fractured jaw and multiples bruises. Four remained in the hospital Friday. The Party of Regions confirmed the fight and said its members were not injured. It said pro-Tymoshenko lawmakers had started fights in the legislature in the past.

Scuffles are frequent in the Ukrainian parliament, but Thursday's was the most violent.
