HOW THOSE WHO ARE ENVIOUS OF AMERICA SEE US

Those of you who read BarkGrowlBite know that Bob Walsh and I have been sparring with Australian anti-death penalty zealot Dorina Lisson for some weeks now. One of her Aussie admirers, hiding behind the moniker ‘anonymous,’ has steadfastly badmouthed the U.S. When Bob and I reminded him that the big bad U.S. saved Australia’s ass from the Japanese during WWII, another Aussie piped in to spew forth the following venom:

Hey Bob, you are stuck in the past mate, in World War 2. I (including most Aussies today from numerous nationalities) were not born then, so we have nothing to thank the USA about.

However, if you wish to look into your own history books you might accept the fact that the world today fully knows the past brutality of the USA, where white Americans deliberately tortured, shot, and slaughtered millions of native American-Indians, literally.

Millions of black slaves were tortured and slaughtered.

There are currently thousands of sick and disabled Americans who are refused medical, hospital and drug treatments because your government doesn't give a damn about them.

Your welfare stinks!

In the aftermarth of Hurricane Katrina thousands of people (mainly African-Americans) were abandoned by your government - homeless, starving and sick. The USA is incapable of looking after their own citizens - it slowly kills them instead.

The USA has created many worldwide wars killing millions of innocent people, including children.

The USA hasn't caught up to the civilized world yet - it is the only western nation that is keeping company with uncivilized unruly bedmates that continue the barbaric act of executing people for revenge.

Typical Yank; you like to dish out "crap" in this blog, but are much too gutless to accept the truth and the facts concerning your own miserable state of a nation, a nation with the highest crime rate in the world, a nation with the highest number of people behind bars, a nation surrounded by death, homelessness, illnesses and poverty.

When I shared that crap with Bob, he said:

Basic anti-American noise. Some truth to it of course, but much that isn't true.

For instance, the Katrina victims in Louisiana got the shit end of the stick partly due to an Act of God and partly due to inaction on the part of local and state government officials. The American government under the Bush administration didn't have jack to do with what happened to the hurricane victims.

I also seem to remember that Australia practiced slavery (they called it Blackbirding) well into the 20th century, not legally of course. But it happened just the same, and it was at least condoned by the Australian power structure.

I think Bob was much too kind to an idiot who is consumed by hatred for this great land of ours. I wonder if this jerk has ever actually visited America?

It is true that Americans killed several thousand Native American Indians, but millions? Where did he get that? There were less than a million Indians living in the U.S. during the 1800s when settlers and the army fought with them. And by the way, how many Aborigines have white Australian’s killed? My son worked in Australia for several months and saw the sorry conditions those poor Aborigines live under, conditions far worse than those our poorest African-Americans live under.

And where did this jerk get that we slaughtered millions of black slaves. There were far fewer than one million black slaves in the South. It just doesn’t make any sense that slave owners would kill off their valuable property.

It is true that our welfare sucks, but not for the far-fetched reasons he gives. Those thousands of sick and disabled Americans he harps about are, in fact, receiving free medical treatment courtesy of the taxpayers in hospitals all over the U.S.

As for the wars we have ‘created’ I can think of only two: Iraq and Afghanistan. In both WWI and WWII we came to the aid of Britain and France. In WWII, together with the Russians, we saved Britain, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark and North Africa from the Nazis. And we saved his beloved Australia from the Japanese, for which he says his generation does not need to be thankful for. We saved South Korea from the invading armies of North Korea and China. We tried, but failed, to save South Vietnam from communist insurgents and the invading army of North Vietnam.

It is true that we have a high crime rate and a large prison population, but we are far from ‘a nation surrounded by death, homelessness, illnesses and poverty.’

Now you may ask why I bothered to post this ‘Proud Australian’s’ filthy and hateful venom? I did it because we need to be aware that he expresses the feelings of millions of people throughout the world, including many living in countries that are our allies, like Australia. And what fuels their hatred of America? The answer is simple. They are envious of our wealth and power.

Let me add that had the U.S. not saved Australia from the Japanese in WWII, an ungrateful ‘Proud Australian’ and many other Aussies of his generation probably would not be around today to spew their venom on us - their parents and grandparents would have been slaughtered by the brutal soldiers of the Japanese war machine. So ‘Proud Australian,’ Bob and I say: Fuck you!
